Pan's Labyrinth 20th Anniversary Sculpture

Made for Elite Creature Collectibles

Created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Guillermo del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth, this sculpture is a collaboration between James Jean, Guillermo del Toro and Elite Creature Collectibles. Based on James Jean's artwork, the composition takes the shape of the crescent moon that marks Ofelia's journey, with the Faun bridging two worlds. At its center, Ofelia holds the key recovered from the toad, while the back reveals the lock she must open, guarded by a resting fairy among pomegranates. A light blue-green patina with touches of vivid orange in the crevices gives the piece a new, ethereal palette.

My Contribution

Working from James Jean's illustrated references and drawovers, in dialogue with James Jean and Steve Wang, I translated the artwork into a detailed three-dimensional composition. I sculpted and refined Ofelia, the Faun, the Pale Man, the toad, the fairies, the mantis, the roots, the flowers and related elements in ZBrush.

Production Preparation

I delivered complete and separated OBJ files, editable ZTL files and review renders, and adjusted the forms for physical production. The finished sculpture and paint are a team production.
